Hey gang! Sorry for the inactivity! While I still do play Garden Party World, I’ve decided not to blog about it due to the lack of updates and other inactivity. I’ve decided to make a new website, dedicated to a great love of mine: Iron Man: Armored Adventures. To see my new site, click the link below. Thanks, and see you there!

Party Competition Over – 8/17/09

August 17, 2009 at 2:23 PM | In Garden Party News | Leave a Comment

Wow! The party competition for July is over and the August Party Competition is now officially started! For the August Party Competition, take a picture of your Treehouse Party and send them in to general@gardenpartyworld.com before September 10th. Anyway, on to the winners of the Party Competition. The winners of the new Disco Dance Floor prize are: Troll, Rowdy, DVD, Simply, Superman124, Guytar, and Noellebubble. Here was their party picture, the Bag Heads of Garden Party:

The Party Competition is now a re-occuring competition with an exclusive new prize, the Disco Dance Floor. It is already in the winners’ inventory and is probably in most of their houses by now.

What else is new? We are now in update 391 of GPW and the old, useless Moderator Button has been replaced with a Help button. It is still called the Report button, when you roll your mouse over it though.

reportbutton

Clicking the new Help button opens a help menu, with some helpful advice. It points out that Peppy gives you specific instructions around GP, and also displays links to the FAQ, Rules, Parent Page, and Contact Page. In Peppy’s “What do all the buttons do?” advice menu, this button still appears as the Moderator button, but will probably be updated soon.

helpmenu
Here’s a little trivia, Peppy the owl is now spelled as ‘Pepe’. We are now able to comfirm that Peppy’s name has been changed to Pepe, but it is pronounced the same way (as far as we know). Pepe’s welcome message to new users has been updated to show this as well:

Pepewelcome

And there is a new ‘Food’ category in the Inventory, Seed Interface, and in the Shop. I’m guessing that the food seeds will be moved into this new category soon, and food items that have been grown will be put into this inventory category. In the past, all food items that have already been grown seemed to dissappear until you used them in your treehouse. Now you will be able to trade, sell, and get rid of food items, I’m guessing.

Food

And there is a night-time update as well. Whenever it starts to get dark, your garden suddenly gains more flowers and a brighter look. It looks pretty amazing compared to the day-time garden design. Try it for yourself!

That’s about all new for now gang, the Red vs Blue info should be along shortly. Keep growing your own fun, gardeners!

A Few New Things – 8/11/09

August 11, 2009 at 12:44 PM | In Garden Party News | Leave a Comment

While I was gone on vacation, there were a few new things that I was not able to post. I am going to let you know about those right now, so hopefully you can stay up to date on some of the new things. First off, there are a few new items out for you to buy for your treehouse. These items are Member Only at the moment. Thanks to Awdcheats for the images.

newstuff
There is also a new look for some of the Decoration seeds that you plant in your garden. It’s pretty cool and gives the plants a bit of unique-ness. The items grown are still the same at the moment, however.

Decorations

There are a few new logos on the GP homepage as well. They don’t link to any websites, but show a few awards that GP has won in the safety category. It gives newer GP players & their parents a good impression.

It appears there was also a typo on the recent ‘Breaking News’ update. It says Party Competition entries were due on July 10, when in actuality, they were due on August 10.

There was also a post about the Membership Holding gardeners on the blog. Here are the complete details, as posted by Samdelion herself.

Back From Vacation – 8/9/09

August 9, 2009 at 10:07 PM | In Garden Party News | 1 Comment

Hey gang, GGX here. Sorry for the lack of updates or Red vs Blue information lately. I’ve been on vacation but I’m back. I will be busy for the next few days but WILL be online. I’m glad to hear that things have been going well in GPW, as well as on our chat. I am proud to say that in the next few weeks, our chat provider will be upgrading to a new server version, meaning new features on our chat! These include custom pictures/avatars, new chat colors, new emotes, larger PM windows, and POSSIBLY a chat bot (which you can interact with through artificial intelligence). There are other features too but we’ll let you know when the chatbox company gives us more information.

Updates on the next Red vs Blue event will be posted sometime next week (or this week, depending on when you read this). I can’t wait to dive back into the Red vs Blue events and I know you can’t either, and with the new GP updates this could be even more fun! I’m glad to be back and I’m ready to have a good chat. Thanks for sticking with us! Keep growing your own fun, Gardeners!

Beta Comes To A Close – 8/3/09

August 3, 2009 at 10:12 AM | In Garden Party News | 2 Comments

It’s finally happened, GP has had a proper formal update. And it’s an impressive update, but not the happiest for most. The membership ‘free time’ that beta players earned has been activated, and the clock is ticking. Memberships are available, and beta players will need to buy one after October 3, 2009, when all Beta Memberships expire. Let’s start with the first update, the UK & US split. The first screen that loads when you enter GP asks you for your country, as the US & UK have seperate servers. You can still go onto the opposite country if you choose though!

CountryServer

After choosing a country, the login screens are the same. You have a larger space for entering the username & password, and a much larger ‘Breaking News’ screen.

NewLogin
The server names are still the same, for both countries, but you’re actually not logging onto the same Server as the other Country’s. Next up are some Moderator updates. When you click the Moderator button, it displays links to the parents page, and the long awaited RULES PAGE!

ModsOnline

Sadly, the Moderator button is now useless for contacting Moderators, and you can no longer talk to the Moderators. This means that any questions with the game will need to be directed to GP Rangers. It is NOT comfirmed, but it is rumored that a Ranger button will replace or be put next to the Moderator button soon. Next, the user reporting interface.

ReportPlayer

This also displays information about the rules, which you should click before reporting. The Report Player option displays many buttons, displaying reasons a user should be reported. False reports could lose your gardener’s playing time. There is now a spot for all message popups that you receive, so none of your messages overlap. The Mod Games are still normal moderator games and have not become GreenFinger games yet.

envelopes
Whenever you attempt to load an area of the game, or a popup, you get a small cursor to show that it’s loading.

LoadCursor
The previous ‘Flashing Minigames’ glitches have all been fixed, along with a few other smaller glitches. The little field on the bottom of the Player Card is now active, displaying item names.

PlayCard
The floor seeds also have a slightly new look:

FloorSeed
And you can only send gifts to other members:

memberonly

And there is a water drop over a plant if it is completely out of water:

waterdrop

FINALLY, the floor glitch (which displayed the wrong names for all the floors) is fixed with this new Decoration Interface!

Decorations

And there is a BEAUTIFUL new trophy cabinet design!

newtophycab

All Beta Testers have memberships until October 3, 2009. But it’s never to early to sign up for more gametime/membership! If you go to the Membership Signup Page, you have the options to choose membership for 1 month, 6 months, or 12 months. You can also choose a re-occuring monthly membership, as well.

SignUp

That’s nice for existing players, but what about new account? When signing up, you get a cool new email with LOADS of information:

NewEmail

AND, there’s a brand new welcome message after signing up:

welcome
Here is what happens when you’re not a member, and try to buy items. The items are faded out, and you get a popup. Only some items are able to be purchased.

memberneeded

These updates are a huge sign that beta is either over or nearly over. I will keep you updated with anything new I find. Congrats to the new Rangers, DVD & Melody1997. Congrats, and have fun with your ranger hats. Here are July’s Art Competition winners. The best hand drawn pic was Mariodude’s!

And DVD’s computer drawn art:

That’s all the new stuff for now! The news widget is updated and I’ll keep you posted on anything new I find. Keep growing your own fun, Gardeners!

Red vs Blue Success – 8/1/09

August 1, 2009 at 3:30 PM | In Garden Party News | 4 Comments

The first event of Red vs Blue was a complete success! Unfortunately it had to be postponed an hour from the original scheduled time, because GP was experiencing technical difficulties, and a few users were busy at the time. The teams met and voted on the two team captains: Dragon for the Red Team, and Naughty for the Blue Team. Two sister team captains! The blue team had 5 attendants, and got 50 points. The red team had 3 attendants, and got 30 points. Dragon one Rock, Paper, Scissors for the red team, giving them another 30 points for winning. In the end, the blue team has 50 points and the red team has 60 points. The captains can consult me on how to use the points.

ingame
With the first Red vs Blue event, we introduced a Red vs Blue chat room to our new chat! This is good for discussing the game in general, and for quick communication during the events. Loads of people join the chat during the events, so be there next time to learn the news before anyone else. The information on the next Red vs Blue event will be posted soon. The event will be fast-paced.

onchat
One final note for today. The chat rules have been update slightly today so we ask everyone to click the ‘Help’ button on our chat and read the updated rules. You should check periodically for rules updates and they can influence the chatting environment. Thanks for playing, and keep growing your own fun, Gardeners!
